I hope you understood the title of Friday's column - Buy Some Transparency - was done, as they say, "tongue in cheek." A bit of subtle sarcasm, if you will.
I hope you agree when I say, transparency is not something purchased. It is earned. Transparency and its close cousin authenticity are not something with a SKU and a price. They are something earned through gestures, value, and relationship.
If you were a CRMAdvocate reader last year, you might remember the discussion about the importance of a transparency policy. We learned that it is something different than other policies. It is not something simply written. It is something expressed through genuine interaction.
Do you feel your organization is willing to pay the price of transparency with the currency of genuine interaction? What's your take?
