Civility costs nothing and buys everything. - Mary Worley Montagu
Yesterday, I wrote that CRMAdvocate is bringing cool to CRM. Well, not really. CRM coolness already existed. (By the way, so has uncool CRM but that is a different story for a different day.) What we are doing is helping you to find the cool CRM by featuring a select group of CRM solution providers among the more than 800 suppliers currently hawking their wares. And today is Day One for Cool CRM - let the cool times roll.

Our goal is to provide you straight talk about a select number of CRM solutions. We will filter out the fancy marketing words in hopes of "telling it like it really is." And we are publishing a transparency policy so you know what it means when we say something is cool.

To get started, let's go over a few cool rules. First, just because we say something is cool doesn't mean it is the right solution for you. A solution may be a great fit for one company and not the next because different companies have different business problems and different requirements. The definition of cool varies with differences in needs. Second, just because we say something is cool doesn't mean it is the only cool solution nor are we crowning the coolest - relative cool comparisons are meaningless.

Those are the cool rules. Do you agree? What's your take on Cool CRM?

Vertical Solutions (VSI) offers a suite of service management solutions for contact centers, service desks, and field service. These solutions allow agents to drive revenue, build customer relationships, and enhance business opportunities.

Video: The New VSI
Vertical Solutions is cool because they provide business process tools necessary to develop and deliver a service-oriented approach. Companies have been able to successfully implement VSI in a fraction of the time it typically takes to implement other solutions.

Vertical Solutions provides VContactCenter, a cloud-based solution for internal, external, and hybrid contact centers; and PowerHelp for Field Service Management. These solutions tend to be a good fit for dynamic service operations that offer complex support.

Did You Know?   Vertical Solutions has been providing service business solutions for over 20 years.

Article:    In Search of a Maturity Model for Social CRM / Social Business
Enterprise implementations of Social CRM can never be turnkey. The software may evolve to be turnkey suites (not today, but might be in the future) but not the business (vision/strategy, policy/alignment/governance, metrics/measurement, tech adoption, culture internationalization, etc.). An organization would then have to grow into a social business. And this calls for a maturity model to aide organizations in figuring out how to grow (Do babies come with a maturity model? Is it written in the DNA?).

Article:    Geolocation: Location, Location, Location
The recent news that microblogging service Twitter was ready to support geolocation data—storing latitude and longitude coordinates on a per-tweet basis—has the business and social worlds abuzz about the potential monetization opportunities. Potential may be the key word. Vuk Trifkovic, a senior analyst at Ovum, calls this a greenfield opportunity that few have caught onto. “I’m not finding enough companies doing this,” he says. “This hasn’t broken through to the mainstream…and it’s a huge deal.”
