Lasting Impressions:
In the New Year, may your right hand always be stretched out in friendship but never in want. - traditional Irish New Year's toast
As is the tradition (no, I'm not Irish any other day of the year), I pondered how best to weave CRM into a St. Patrick's Day theme. Some may feel it takes the luck of the Irish to satisfy some customers. Or, maybe there is more "green" when we remain customer centric. Regardless, I share with you the encouraging words of this famous Irish blessing?

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Smile and enjoy the day.

That's my take. What's your take?

Enabling the next-generation, mobile workforce has, for many enterprises, become a mandate for remaining competitive, finds a new national survey sponsored by SupportSoft. The just-released study reveals that more than three quarters (82%) of IT management executives surveyed are relying on a remote support framework to help make this a viable reality. The independent research was conducted by SupportIndustry.com and targeted support managers whose company's workforce spans less than 500 to more than 10,000, and represents a range of vertical industries including technology, healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing.

Article:    Is Workforce Optimization Recession-Proof?
Despite the economic downturn and the software industry's sliding profits, the workforce optimization (WFO) market continued to grow by leaps and bounds in 2008, according to the new Quality Management/Liability Recording report from DMG Consulting. The report indicates that the WFO market's rapid increase in revenue was particularly dramatic in the first half of the year: The contact center segment of the WFO market, for example, booked $507 million in first-half revenue, a 13.4 percent jump from the first half of 2007. Even more telling, the overall WFO market's $1.34 billion in first-half revenue was an 18.3 percent jump over the same period in 2007 ($1.23 billion).

Article:    Is the "Accent Effect" Hurting Your Agent Performance?
Say it isn't so. Actually, does any contact center in the U.S. would knowingly allow conditions in the workplace that are unfair or knowingly subject individuals to hostile work environments? Perhaps some over-compensate to avoid even the slightest appearance of discrimination. Many contact centers are also proactive at protecting their agents against abuse from customers. Or are they? Could many contact centers be accepting prejudice from its customers and allowing discrimination of its agents to occur? Is your contact center one of them?
