Siebel to Acquire Ineto
Siebel announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ineto Services, a provider of hosted contact center solutions. This acquisition will enable Siebel CRM OnDemand to remove the need to buy and integrate telephony hardware and software.

NICE joins forces with IBM
NICE announced that it is working with IBM to pursue various joint opportunities on a global basis, in digital video surveillance and Voice over IP for contact centers, financial trading and command and control. Recently, NICE and IBM, working together, won the first contracts for voice and VoIP recording solutions for compliance with financial services customers in Europe involved in retail banking and multi-site trading.   (about NICE)

Salesforce.com Launches Office Edition
Salesforce.com has announced salesforce.com Office Edition. Using XML Web services and adding a salesforce.com menu to Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel and Microsoft Office Outlook, the salesforce.com Office Edition provides automated delivery of customer and sales information directly into Microsoft Office applications, allowing users to create documents and reports with real-time data.

Help Desk Institute Updates Courseware
HDI announced it has updated the courseware for its support center training and certification programs. The course modules to prepare for HDI Certification at three levels: Customer Support Specialist (HDI CSS), Help Desk Analyst (HDI HDA), and Help Desk Manager (HDI HDM) have been refreshed, with more than one-third new content, to reflect changing support industry practices.
