Colleges Deploy PeopleSoft
PeopleSoft announced that more than 30 higher education institutions have deployed PeopleSoft's Enterprise Campus Solutions within the past six months. PeopleSoft's Internet applications enable students, faculty and staff to gain real-time access to academic and administrative information. New and existing customers that have deployed PeopleSoft Campus Solutions since January of 2003 include: Cornell University, Duke University, Princeton University, Northwestern University and Butler University.   (about PeopleSoft)

Avaya Sells Connectivity Solutions
Avaya said it has agreed to sell its Connectivity Solutions business to CommScope. Under the terms of the agreement, Avaya will receive a purchase price of $263 million, subject to adjustment, consisting of approximately $210 million of cash, a convertible note payable in the amount of $18 million, and CommScope common stock having a current value of $34.9 million.

Acquity Forecasts Growth in Online Sales
Acquity Group forecasts that U.S. holiday shoppers will spend $17 billion in online purchases this year (excluding travel), up 24% from the $13.7 billion spent during the 2002 holiday season. Acquity Group bases this forecast on Internet usage growth trends, online retailing trends, and direct feedback from their customers, which include a number of global 2000 retailers. Worldwide Internet usage has grown at a steady 29.2% over the past three years.

DataProse With Exstream Software
Exstream Software announced that DataProse is using its Dialogue software to meet customer demands for faster turnaround. Dialogue is making it possible for DataProse to reduce development time for complex applications, like personalized transactional statements and direct mail, from three months to three to five days.

J.B. Hanauer Selects Scherrer Web Ally
J.B. HANAUER has selected Web Ally as its front office, enterprise customer relationship management (eCRM) and broker productivity desktop platform for its 350 advisors, brokers, sales assistants, managers and administrative staff located within their nationwide branch offices. This installation is part of the J.B. HANAUER rollout of a current intranet platform for its retail sales force.

Ascential Software Helps MicroStrategy
Ascential Software announced that MicroStrategy has selected Ascential DataStage to help deliver transparency to all aspects of business performance. DataStage will automate the data transformation and movement from more than a dozen enterprise applications into MicroStrategy's enterprise data warehouse, called Aqueduct.
