Empirix Working With Intel
Empirix announced that it is working with Intel Corporation to provide a new class of integrated solutions for identifying and rectifying Web application performance bottlenecks. The companies will integrate Empirix's e-Load Web application load testing solution with the Intel Vtune Enterprise Analyzer, designed to monitor and improve the performance of distributed applications.

Avaya Launches Contact Center
Avaya announced two new business endeavors: the launch of its new Avaya Multimedia Contact Center and its expansion of its services business in Asia Pacific. Avaya Multimedia Contact Center is a CRM solution that aims to enable companies to deliver personalized customer service and sales across multiple contact center locations and communications channels.



Optos With Astea
Astea announced that Optos has selected the Astea AllianceEnterprise Suite to automate management of customer support, equipment service and sales operations. AllianceEnterprise will be implemented at the Optos North America facility in Marlborough, Massachusetts and will be integrated with the company's financial and ERP systems at Optos plc headquarters in Dunfermline, Scotland.

Group 1 Software announced that WestStar Credit Union has implemented its DM1 marketing automation solution. DM1 is a marketing automation solution offering data hygiene and enhancement capabilities by integrating Group 1's data quality solutions.



J.D. Edwards Launches ISV Program
J.D. Edwards announced a new Independent Software Vendor (ISV) program to expand upon J.D. Edwards enterprise solutions for the mid-market, and provide even more solutions for customers. Participating companies can license J.D. Edwards enterprise software to build interfaces to the J.D. Edwards family of products.



UK Marketers Show Willing For Billing
The survey by Pitney Bowes targeted top UK marketers to establish their thoughts on the likely response rates delivered by a selection of marketing techniques. Most significant was the predicted level of response generated by marketing offers accompanying bills or statements. Such offers were expected to deliver a typical response rate of 6.5%, almost as high as that expected from direct mail campaigns (6.8%) and equal to that expected from outbound telemarketing (6.5%). This figure is surprising, going against the commonly held view that offers included with bills or statements will suffer from a negative consumer reaction to such communications.



eOn President Named Leader
eOn Communications announced that its president and chief executive officer, Troy Lynch, was recently named one of the "leaders of Georgia's technology industry," by the Atlanta Business Chronicle in the publication's annual look at the key figures shaping Atlanta's technology community. The publication calls those on this year's list people who "exercise great influence among other leaders."

ePeople and WebEx announced the integration of WebEx Support Center into ePeople Teamwork to enable customer support analysts to instantly identify, diagnose and resolve technical issues faster. ePeople Teamwork enables companies to engage relevant support analysts on a customer issue and provides a web-based workspace where the team can collaborate together to resolve complex issues.



Loquendo TTS Integrated By InfoSpeech
Loquendo TTS will power services provided by ONCE - Spain's National Organization for the Blind - in the organization's educational centers for blind and visually impaired users. Loquendo's Spanish partner, InfoSpeech, is integrating Loquendo TTS in the automated call centers it is developing for ONCE's Bibliographical & Cultural Center. Users accessing the ONCE call centers will be provided with the over-the-phone information they require by Loquendo's text-to-speech engine.
