SupportSoft Announces the General Availability of ServiceGateway 4.0

New Release From Enterprise Unit Raises the Bar in Remote Device Management Market

REDWOOD CITY, CA--Apr 8, 2008 -- SupportSoft, Inc. (NasdaqGS:SPRT - News), a provider of software and services that make technology work, demonstrated its continued leadership in the remote device provisioning and management market with the announcement of ServiceGateway 4.0 ("SG 4.0"). SG 4.0 encompasses over a year of engineering investment and will lead the market in remote device provisioning with respect to product features and functionality, scalability and architecture. Of the many features introduced with SG 4.0, key changes and enhancements include the following:

-- A New Customer Service Representative user interface with an interactive web 2.0 experience

-- A device capability discovery engine

-- A customizable and feature rich policy and workflow engine

-- Flexible tools for building and aggregating device configuration templates

-- Velocity scripting

-- A new web services framework

-- Increased Out-of-the-Box reports

"SG 4.0 represents an important step forward in remote device provisioning and management," says Michael Sayer, General Manager of SupportSoft's Enterprise Business Unit. "We have been delighted with the response from customers who have experienced the 4.0 release, and look forward to bringing it to marketplace now that it is generally available."

SupportSoft's ServiceGateway configures, manages and supports multiple broadband home devices for a full range of service fulfillment and assurance operations. ServiceGateway uses a centralized Auto Configuration Server to identify, configure and query virtually all types of current or legacy Customer Premise Equipment, including those with standards-based or proprietary interfaces.

When a customer calls for new or additional service, ServiceGateway automatically authenticates the customer, sets up the device and enables service to begin, all carried out via a secure walled garden environment. The result is a reduction in the cost of installation and support as well as improvement in the quality and consistency of service.

"As existing users of SupportSoft's ServiceGateway product, we are very excited about the latest 4.0 release, specifically the interactive Web 2.0 User Interface, the policy and workflow engine and the other many features," states Stefano Clini, Head of Service Activation Systems, Fastweb. "SupportSoft's thought leadership in this market will help us to manage more remote devices better and in a more cost effective way," continues Mr. Clini.
