Infogain completes acquisition of Spider Systems

Acquisition Signals Expansion of Infogain’s business in Oracle ERP services market

(I-Newswire) - Infogain Corporation, a leading provider in CRM, ERP, Integration and Business Intelligence Solutions and Services, today announced the completion of its acquisition of Spider Systems, Pune, India. The acquisition immediately establishes Infogain as a strong player in the ERP market space with the ability to deliver Oracle ERP services in response to current customer requests and strong market potential. With the acquisition Infogain is one of the only mid-size firms that provide services for Oracle Applications, Peoplesoft, Seibel, Oracle Fusion, as well as Oracle Retail.

The acquisition of Spider is part of Infogain’s strategy to become a leading business process solution provider for mid-market companies, a logical next step in the evolution of the company's ERP and integration services. This strategy is expected to result in greater opportunities for Infogain to deliver complete solutions in the Oracle ERP space to its clients, including full life cycle implementations, migrations to Oracle Apps 11i, development and customization of reports and interfaces, pre- and post-implementation audits, and post-implementation support both onsite and offshore. With the acquisition of Spider, Infogain is the first among global enterprise IT services companies to offer an Oracle DBA “Think Tank”, a specialized team supporting the company’s 75+ Oracle DBA’s as they solve complex database and design issues. More information on Infogain’s Oracle ERP services is available at www.infogain.com/eit/erp.jsp.

The acquisition brings Infogain’s strength to close to 1,000. It also expands Infogain’s Peoplesoft capabilities to include university implementations of Peoplesoft HRMS. Infogain brings functional, technical and project management expertise for effective, high quality implementations.

Announcing this key development, Mr. Kapil Nanda, CEO, Infogain Corporation said, “The acquisition of Spider is a major step in the expansion of Infogain’s Oracle ERP business. Our vision is to be a recognized leader and trusted partner by providing high quality, high value software solutions to the retail, high tech, and software industries. We are honoured to provide these services to our combined client base of more than 75 companies across the globe.”

The Pune team will operate as a division of Infogain and will be headed up by Mr. Rajan Bhatnagar, currently Managing Director of Spider Systems. The 20,000 square-foot center in Pune will offer Infogain access to the current team of 150 and a new talent pool. Plans for expanding what types of work are done in Pune will unfold with Infogain’s continuing growth and will enable Infogain to capitalize on talent from different regions.

“Spider System’s area of focus has been to provide comprehensive consulting services in the areas of Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP ) and Oracle DBA services. Its frameworks and other Oracle Apps-related IP will enhance Infogain’s repertoire of unique value-adds.” added Mr. Nanda. Spider’s customers include Deepak Nitrite, ITC, Gati, Thermax, and Rucha Industries among many others.

The Spider business will function as an Infogain company and will ultimately be fully integrated into Infogain’s operations, with the former Spider headquarters functioning as an ERP center of excellence.
