The North Carolina-based independent operating carrier (IOC), which has a 50-year history delivering communications services throughout the state, provides a variety of local and long distance, wireless, Internet and cable television services across 34,000 access lines. The Tekelec IAS provides Yadkin Valley with critical business intelligence data, enabling the carrier to identify phantom traffic, report percent interstate usage (PIU) discrepancies by carrier and verify interconnect billing.
"Tekelec gives us visibility into our network traffic, enabling us to identify sources of revenue loss, recover lost revenues and manage our relationships with other carriers to ensure future revenues," said Jim Crabtree, general manager, Yadkin Valley Telephone Company. "At the same time, the Tekelec IAS delivers data we need to develop services to attract new subscribers and improve the bottom line."
The Tekelec IAS is fully integrated with Yadkin Valley's existing Tekelec EAGLE 5® Signaling Application System. The combined signaling and applications solution reduces operational expenses, increases revenues and accommodates the carrier's future growth.
"IAS is unique in that it provides our customers with the ability to tap into rich signaling data to create their own business reports," said Eric Gehl, president and general manager of Tekelec's Communications Software Solutions Group. "We deliver solutions that help IOCs and other operators maintain profitability."
