Convergys Upgrades Nawras Telecom's Billing and Customer Care Platform

CINCINNATI & MUSCAT, Oman-Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG - News), a global leader in relationship management, announced today that it has upgraded Nawras’ billing and customer care system to a newer version of the Convergys Infinys [r] solution. Nawras, winner of the CommsMEA 2007 Middle East Mobile Operator of the Year, provides 96 percent countrywide coverage in Oman, and has over one million customers.

The system upgrade from Convergys is providing Nawras with expanded capabilities to launch converged voice and data services to both pre- and post-paid customers. These include next generation services based on IP and bundles of voice, data, and video with cross-product discounts. The upgrade follows Convergys’ product road map for wireless operators and was completed on time and within Nawras’ budget.

“Convergys’ solution has helped us capitalize on Oman’s growth in mobile services since we began operations in 2005,” said Ross Cormack, Nawras CEO. “With this upgrade, we are continuing to improve our speed to market with advanced convergent services without the cost of expensive custom development, and our customers continue to benefit from great value, pleasingly different service, and excellent quality.”

“Improving the relationship operators have with their customers is paramount as mobile voice services become ubiquitous,” said Jean-Hervé Jenn, Convergys President, International. “Using Converygs’ rating and billing solution is helping Nawras build on its customer relationships with a proven carrier-grade convergent solution that improves customer management efficiency and profitability while expanding revenue opportunity with new services.”

Convergys’ Infinys solution is a highly scalable, convergent charging and settlement solution that supports existing and emerging services across multiple vertical markets. The solution delivers products and services to market quickly and easily. It serves as a flexible and feature-rich software application that defines new services via configuration without customization.
