FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cellcom Selects Amdocs Compact Convergence to Deliver Complete Service Enablement for its African Affiliates
Solution allows Cellcom to rapidly and cost-effectively deliver value-added services to customers with integrated real-time convergent charging and customer support
ST. LOUIS, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amdocs (NYSE: DOX - News), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced that Cellcom Telecommunications, a multinational mobile operator holding subsidiaries in Africa with operating licenses in Liberia, Guinea Conakry and Sierra Leone, has selected the Amdocs Compact Convergence suite. The Amdocs solution will provide Cellcom affiliate operators across Africa with a service enablement solution to design, create, deliver and control their own network-connected services quickly and cost-effectively with a complete service platform. This win expands Amdocs' presence in the fast-growing African region, one of the major emerging communications markets in the world.
"Cellcom was looking for a complete service enablement solution that delivers the technology and business support necessary to quickly enter new markets and rapidly respond to market needs. With Amdocs Compact Convergence suite, we can enable new service innovation, attract new customers and provide a consistent and superior customer experience-all while meeting our operational cost constraints," said Roy Ben-Yami, principal of Cellcom. "Amdocs has become a trusted partner and we look forward to growing our relationship as its solutions help grow our market share."
The Amdocs Compact Convergence solution will enable Cellcom to deliver and support pre-built services that are available out-of-the-box, or create its own innovative new services in hours, not months. The solution is an integrated suite complete with real-time convergent charging and customer support. As a result, Cellcom can easily define any billing parameters and implement virtually any pricing plan for these new services. Cellcom can also support the introduction and management of new value-added services for voice, Short Message Service (SMS) and mobile data and enable its subscribers to easily personalize their services to maximize value and utility. Cellcom's operators can provide additional voice and data services via third party systems, enabling them to rapidly expand their service portfolio.
"Amdocs' convergent, tightly integrated service enablement suite will help Cellcom introduce new services today and serve as a growth platform for future services," said Charles Born, vice president of corporate communications for Amdocs. "As Cellcom faces competition in this fast-growing market, Amdocs solutions enable it to create, deliver and support new value-added services in record time to gain competitive advantage."
The Amdocs Compact Convergence Suite is a key part of the newly introduced Amdocs Customer Experience Systems (CES) product portfolio. The Amdocs CES portfolio is designed to help service providers make the transformation from suppliers of network utilities to purveyors of a digital lifestyle.
