The Open Source CRM project Zurmo today announced version 0.7.5 shipped on October 9th. The release includes enhanced Social CRM functionality, additional Gamification elements, the ability to add profile pictures, and custom list columns while searching.

Enhanced Social CRM Functionality: Social Feeds

Social Feeds keep Zurmo users up to date on what their colleagues are sharing. Sharing can be status updates similar to what is seen on social media platforms, but visible only to employees within the organization. After changing the status of certain activities, such as closing an opportunity, a sales rep has the option of either pressing “Save Changes” or “Save Changes and Share”.

“The idea behind Social Feeds is to encourage co-workers by leading through example. Sales people are used to getting high praises. We want to give Marketing and Customer Service reps the same opportunity for recognition,” comments Zurmo Community Manager Stafford McKay. “They may be further removed from the revenue stream, but these team players should be enabled to proudly share their contributions that benefit the organization as a whole. Zurmo makes that possible through the Gamification and Social CRM features we’re adding with each new release,” continues McKay.

Added Gamified Mechanics: Missions

A Mission is a new Gamification concept that allows co-workers to challenge one another in exchange for a reward. Much of CRM is about unifying all customer facing interactions. Missions encourage people to collaborate across multiple departments in a creative way. Learn more about Missions: http://zurmo.org/use-cases/what-missions-accomplish-in-an-open-source-crm

Also included in 0.7.5 is the ability for users to personalize their profile avatar and custom list columns designed to make searching easier.
