Recurring revenue has increased in importance, but is still underserved. Among a sample of the world's leading technology companies, recurring revenue accounted for 40 percent of total company revenue. This represented a growth of nearly 30 percent over the previous five years, as compared to only 14 percent average growth in new product sales.
