REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., April 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --

News Facts

Oracle today announced three new Management Connectors for HP help desk and systems management products to help customers reduce the complexity and cost of managing heterogeneous data centers.

The integration of Oracle Enterprise Manager and HP help desk products enables businesses to achieve operational excellence through the adoption of IT service management best practices, such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).

With its unique top-down approach, Oracle Enterprise Manager provides an integrated management solution for packaged and SOA applications and their supporting Oracle and non-Oracle software infrastructure. Building on its extensibility framework to monitor and manage non-Oracle technologies, Oracle today added connectors for:

HP ServiceCenter

HP Service Manager

HP OpenView Operations (HP Operations Manager)

Improving Efficiencies in Data Center Management

The new Management Connectors to HP ServiceCenter and HP Service Manager provide a seamless workflow for incident management and resolution across Oracle and HP environments. Customers can integrate Oracle Enterprise Manager's proactive alert detection and resolution capabilities for Oracle software with HP's help desk products thereby reducing the time and effort to resolve issues and help achieve service objectives at lower costs. The Management Connector for HP OpenView Operations facilitates bi-directional exchange of alerts with Oracle Enterprise Manager, enabling the correlation of availability and performance problems across the technology stack. This provides customers the ability to maintain service levels and reduce downtime for business critical systems.
