John Schoenewald has over 30 years of experience in the high-tech services industry. He currently is CEO of AFSM International, the global organization dedicated to furthering the knowledge, leadership, and career development of professionals in high-technology services and support. Prior to assuming the role of CEO, John served three terms as the
Association’s chairman and president.
Previously, John worked as a senior consultant for Hahn Consulting, a leading firm in the high-tech services industry with focus in the areas of strategic planning, marketing, sales, and customer and competitive research.
Prior to Hahn Consulting, John worked at Imation where he directed the OEM/third-party services business. In this role, he was responsible for providing leadership for the entire business, which included service marketing, sales, and operations.
During his 30-year career at 3M, he held various management positions in the U.S. and several international management assignments over a 15-year period. He was responsible for directing international activities with focus in the area of field services, strategic business planning, and structuring 3M and Imation’s global services capabilities. During his career, he was responsible for creating and driving the global services business growth strategy and developing the services marketing/sales and business development functions.
John has a B.S. degree with honors in business management and a major in international business. He has been quoted in such publications as Time, Services News, Computer Service & Support, and Field Force Automation.
